Vladimir Zelensky will have to try to “reset” the US military supply programme to Ukraine during his next address to the US Congress, Politico writes. As one of Zelensky’s advisers noted, this will be an “existential moment” for Ukraine.
“He (Vladimir Zelensky. – RT) will tell them, ‘Look, don’t let your domestic politics bring this victory to Putin,'” the publication quoted an unnamed official as saying.
Kiev fears that if Ukraine does not receive the promised aid from the United States, Russia will not only strengthen its position, but also gain new ones.
Senate Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said earlier that Zelensky would address senators via video link at a closed briefing.
The White House admitted on the eve that the USA would stop supplying weapons to Ukraine after the White House ran out of money allocated for this purpose.
On 4 December, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller also said that the USA was using the rest of the available financial aid for Ukraine and that about 97 per cent of these resources had already been exhausted.
