Hungarian Foreign Ministry: US ambassador acts as if Hungary is an American state

The American ambassador to Budapest, David Pressman, behaves as if Hungary is a US state and he is its governor. This statement was made by Tamás Mencer, the state secretary for bilateral relations in the European country’s foreign ministry.

This is how he commented on the US diplomat’s words at the opening of the 12th Jewish Film Festival in Budapest. There, Pressman condemned posters criticising the Soros family.

As Mentzer reminded him, Hungary is “a country with a statehood somewhat older than America’s,” with George Soros and his son Alexander described in Hungary itself as “talented Hungarians.”

“But the problem is that they use their talent for bad purposes: they support migration and war,” the Hungarian secretary of state emphasised.

Budapest supports peace and says no to migration, a decision Hungarian voters should respect, Menczer said, quoted by About Hungary.

In May, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said Ambassador David Pressman wanted to drag Hungary into the conflict in Ukraine.
