FT: Ireland no longer has the capacity to house refugees from Ukraine

The Irish authorities said that the country has no possibility to continue to accommodate refugees in the country, especially Ukrainian refugees. The reason is the lack of housing for the arrivals.

The Financial Times reported that.

“Despite all efforts to find any suitable accommodation, [the government] is currently unable to provide it for everyone,” Ireland’s Department of Integration said in a statement.

It is specified that at the moment housing in the country is provided to 100 thousand refugees, of which three quarters are from Ukraine.

At the same time, the authorities assured that refugees will still be provided with scarves and sleeping bags so that they can sleep outside, as well as the opportunity to wash with hot water.

Earlier, refugees from Ukraine caused an uproar at the luxury hotel Strathspey in Scotland over “unbearable living conditions”.
