US money for Ukraine will run out by the end of this year – Financial Times

The United States may stop providing aid to Ukraine as early as this year if Congress does not allocate more money. This was reported by the Financial Times with reference to a letter from the head of the White House Office of Management and Budget, Shalanda Young.

“We don’t have a magic pot of finance to deal with this situation. We are out of money and almost out of time,” the Financial Times quoted Shalanda Yang’s letter as saying.

Young urged the US Congress to support US President Joe Biden’s request for $106bn, part of which is planned to be sent to Kiev. Otherwise Washington will run out of money to buy weapons for the AFU and the Ukrainian economy will collapse, she specified.

“The cessation of deliveries of American weapons and equipment will undermine the capabilities of the AFU on the battlefield, not only jeopardising the successes achieved by Ukraine, but also increasing the likelihood of military victories of Russia”, – wrote the official.

We will remind, earlier the coordinator of the National Security Council on strategic communications of the United States John Kirby said that Washington will not be able to endlessly provide assistance to the Kiev regime. Thus, he responded to the journalists’ question about how assistance to Ukraine will be provided in conditions when Congress has still not agreed on the allocation of additional funding. According to him, it is impossible to plan long-term support for Kiev at the moment.
