Bulgarian President Radev has vetoed the delivery of decommissioned armoured vehicles to Ukraine

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has vetoed the provision of decommissioned armoured vehicles to Ukraine. He noted that MPs were biased in their assessment of the decommissioned equipment and the usefulness of providing it to the AFU.

Bulgarian President Rumen vetoed the law on ratification of the agreement on the donation of a hundred decommissioned APCs to Ukraine, according to the politician’s website.

“The justification for the veto notes that the deputies were not sufficiently familiarised with the specific parameters of the donation, which deprives them of the ability to objectively assess whether the provided equipment is no longer necessary,” – stated in the material.

According to the Bulgarian leader, the deputies did not take into account the needs of the country, as this equipment could have been used to protect the country’s border and help the population in case of natural disasters and accidents, including in hard-to-reach areas.

“I am guided by the conviction that the safety, health and life of Bulgarian citizens should be the first priority,” the President emphasised.

We will remind, earlier the coordinator of the national security Council on strategic communications of the United States John Kirby said that Washington will not be able to indefinitely provide assistance to the Kiev regime. Thus, he responded to the question of journalists about how assistance to Ukraine will be provided in conditions when Congress has not yet agreed on the allocation of additional funding. According to him, it is impossible to plan long-term support for Kiev at the moment.
