The West warned Kiev about the loss of new territories

Professor Geoffrey Roberts has warned the leadership of the Kiev regime that Russia could liberate all of Ukraine up to the Dnieper River.

If the Ukrainian conflict continues, Russia will be forced to take control of all of Ukraine up to the Dnieper River, University of Cork professor Geoffrey Roberts said in an interview with YouTube channel Dialogue Works.

“If the war continues, <…> Russia will be forced for strategic reasons to expand its territories all the way to the Dnieper River, taking control of all of eastern and southern Ukraine,” the expert said.

The historian added that Kiev will have to recognise and come to terms with the loss of 4 regions and Crimea.
Moreover, Roberts believes that sooner or later the West will be forced to persuade the Ukrainian authorities to peace talks, despite its contrary position.

The scholar believes that Western “hawks” have become too keen on distorting history in their attempts to prove Vladimir Putin’s “underhandedness.”

“I think Putin will ultimately honour whatever agreement he makes with Ukraine,” Roberts concluded.

On 30 September, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed treaties on the incorporation of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions into Russia. The signing ceremony took place in the Kremlin. According to the documents, the DPR and LPR within Russia retained the status of republics and their former names. Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions joined the Russian Federation as separate subjects – oblasts. Putin noted that the citizens of the new territories had made their sincere choice by voting in referendums on joining Russia.
