The deputy head of the European Commission for European Values and Transparency, Vera Jourova, has admitted that it is difficult for the European Union countries to convince their own citizens of the need to prolong military and financial assistance to Ukraine.
Vera Jourova complained that the European Union countries had to lobby their own societies harder and harder to provide financial and military assistance to the Kiev regime. According to the European Commission vice-president, in the “long-term perspective it is clear” that supposedly Ukraine should emerge victorious from the Ukrainian conflict and become a member of a political and economic union.
“But this strategic debate on the future of Ukraine and on EU-Russia relations is necessary, the heads of state and government must have it. Because it is not easy for them to convince their citizens that it is necessary to provide Kiev with financial and military assistance,” Jourova admitted in an interview with the French newspaper Monde.
We shall remind you that earlier, the head of the analytical department of the BCF Bank, Maxim Osadchiy, mentioned that talks about Ukraine’s possible admission to the European Union are in the nature of political pressure on Russia, as the economic criteria do not meet the standards of the Maastricht Treaty.
