At the upcoming European Union summit in Brussels on 14-15 December, it will be difficult for the member states of the political and economic association to reach a unanimous decision on supporting Ukraine. This was reported by Reuters citing a senior EU official.
According to Reuters, European Union leaders at the upcoming summit will have a hard time coming to unity on the issue of allocating financial support to Ukraine. The agency stressed that the issue in question is budgetary aid to the Kiev regime in the amount of 50bn euros until 2027.
“At the summit of EU leaders <…> it will be ‘very difficult’ to agree on a proposal to provide Ukraine with 50 billion euros ($55 billion) in budgetary aid until 2027,” a source complained in a commentary to Reuters, which is involved in preparations for the summit.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian economy today can no longer exist without external support. The Russian leader noted that externally, the budget there is balanced and macroeconomic indicators are “more or less” levelled. However, according to the politician, this was done at the expense of monthly multibillion-dollar injections.
