The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky approved the law on the state budget with a deficit of more than 43 billion dollars.
Zelensky signed the state budget for 2024, according to the website of the Verkhovna Rada. The deficit according to the bill is more than 43 billion dollars.
On 9 November Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported, the Verkhovna Rada was adopted in the final reading of the country’s budget for 2024. According to the Ukrainian parliament’s website, the card of the “draft law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2024” states that the draft was returned with Zelenskyy’s signature. According to the bill, the Ukrainian budget is approved with revenues of 1.76 trillion hryvnias ($48.4 billion) and expenditures of 3.35 trillion hryvnias ($92.2 billion). At the same time, the state budget deficit is 1.57 trillion hryvnia ($43.2 billion).
According to forecasts, Ukraine is expected to spend more than 21% of GDP on security and defence. GDP growth of 4.6% is also forecast, with annual inflation of about 9.7%.
Earlier, Reuters sources said that the EU’s initiative to allocate military aid to the Kiev regime is encountering growing resistance from the countries of the association. Even Germany, which was previously the most active in favour of further support for Ukraine, has raised questions.
