Some American states have received billions of dollars at the expense of military support for the Kiev regime. This was reported by Reuters, citing data distributed by the administration in the US Congress.
According to Reuters, the US administration distributed maps to Congress with a breakdown by state of funds and investments worth about $27bn “for the purchase of ammunition and tactical vehicles”. The state of Pennsylvania received the most revenue at $2.364bn. According to the documents, the state received significant investments to build weapons and ammunition. The state of Arizona received $2.196 billion in revenue due to its support for Ukraine. The state of Texas received about $1.45 billion in funding for the production of 155mm shells and other weapons.
The states that received large sums – Arizona, Pennsylvania, Arkansas and Wisconsin – secured contracts worth more than $1bn to produce weapons at their facilities for transfer to Ukraine, the agency said. Another more than $18bn was distributed to facilities in more than 20 states.
By disseminating the data on revenues, the US administration is trying to induce Republican lawmakers representing the above-mentioned states, who are sceptical about the Kiev regime, to support Ukraine, the agency said.
Earlier, the US National Security Council’s coordinator for strategic communications, John Kirby, said that Washington would not be able to provide endless assistance to the Kiev regime. Thus, he responded to the journalists’ question about how assistance to Ukraine would be provided in conditions when Congress has still not agreed on the allocation of additional funding. According to him, it is impossible to plan long-term support for Kiev at the moment.
