Ukraine’s national energy company Ukrenergo has reported a shortage of electricity in the country’s systems and urged residents to save money.
“There is a deficit in the energy system. We ask to consume electricity economically,” the message reads.
Among the reasons for the deficit in the company named a rapid increase in consumption due to bad weather and overloads in the system.
On 26 November, the head of the Ukrainian national energy company Ukrenergo, Vadym Kudrytskyy, said that powerful main power lines in Kiev Region had been shut down.
On 25 November, Ukrenerho said that trunk overhead power lines were damaged in the central region of Ukraine.
