Euractiv: NATO countries will approve simplified plan for Ukraine’s accession to the alliance

A simplified programme of reforms required for Ukraine’s accession to NATO after the end of the armed conflict will be supported by the foreign ministers of the alliance’s member states. This information is provided by the portal Euractiv.

According to a report circulated by the portal, NATO and Ukraine will agree on 29 November on a list of tasks necessary for the country’s future accession to the alliance.

It is about the “adapted annual national programme” proposed by Kiev, which was drawn up taking into account the recommendations of NATO members.

It is noteworthy that some NATO member states, including Germany and the USA, did not want to exempt Ukraine from the need to reform. At the same time, they agreed to a separate programme.

Earlier, the alliance’s secretary-general, Jens Stoltenberg, said that Ukraine was closer to NATO than ever before.
