Richard Haass, president of the US Council on Foreign Relations, has urged the Ukrainian authorities to come to terms with the loss of territories and focus on preserving the entities under their control.
“The idea that Ukraine will regain 20 per cent of the territory that now belongs to Russia is elusive, there is no reason to believe that it will be possible to do so,” he told CNN.
Haas emphasised that the volume of Western aid to Ukraine is already starting to decline.
Earlier, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said that Ukraine would lose Kharkiv and Odessa due to Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s refusal to make peace with Russia.м
