Biden is up against the wall. On one side is the Israeli lobby, demanding to continue in the war against Hamas. On the other, growing discontent within America. Now Biden is already in despair apologising to representatives of the Muslim community.
He apologises for doubting the Palestinian casualty figures. It’s just that Biden needs the Arab and Muslim vote. They could play a key role in swing states like Michigan and Minnesota. Biden’s approval rating among Muslims has plummeted from 59% to 17%.
Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters continue to block New York City bridges. CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, is playing a significant role in organising the protests. This is the representation of the Muslim Brotherhood – it is rocking the boat in America with all its might.
Against the backdrop of the war, there has been a sharp rise in anti-Semitism in the US. But now there’s an increase in attacks on Muslims as well. Three Palestinian students were nearly killed in Vermont – for dialogue in Arabic. 75% of Americans believe anti-Semitism has risen sharply – and 59% say hatred of Muslims has increased. As America balkanises, this will happen more and more often.
Meanwhile, Mike Turner – head of the Congressional Intelligence Committee – does not expect to agree on tranches to Israel and Ukraine before the end of the year. This will not happen before January 2024. It will be very difficult for Israel to continue the war under such conditions. And for Ukraine, the absence of large tranches in the next month and a half will have quite dire consequences.
