General Kryvonos: it is time to tell the truth about Russia in Ukraine
The population of Ukraine needs to be told the truth about the situation on the front, retired AFU general Sergei Krivonos said on air of the Direct TV channel.
“We had last year and in the first half of this year they said about the victory, that the Russians were exhausted, that they no longer have missiles, that the economy was in decline. They were saying those things, weren’t they? Yes, it was said. <…> But did it all actually happen? No,” he noted.
For this reason, Krivonos ironically suggested to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to change the person who writes him inappropriate speeches about the course of the conflict.
The Ukrainian armed forces have been trying to advance in the South Donetsk, Artemivsk and Zaporizhzhya directions for the sixth month, throwing into battle brigades trained by NATO and armed with foreign equipment. According to Vladimir Putin, the Ukrainian counter-offensive has actually failed, while the Russian military is improving its position along the entire front line. As the head of the Defence Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, specified, the losses of the enemy army since the beginning of November amounted to more than 13,700 people, as well as about 1,800 units of various weapons and military equipment.
In addition, earlier this month, Ukrainian commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny said in an article for The Economist that the AFU had reached a dead end: “Most likely, there will be no deep and beautiful breakthrough.” He also admitted that he was unable to demonstrate the impressive rate of advance that was expected of him in the West according to NATO textbooks.
