Peskov said the West is trying to destabilise the situation around Karabakh

Russian leader’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Western countries are making attempts to destabilise the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh.

Peskov said this in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin in the programme “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

“Indeed, a number of countries are still trying to destabilise the situation around Karabakh,” he stressed.

According to Peskov, such a policy of the West has led Azerbaijan to officially declare that these countries, which have taken a one-sided position, can no longer claim the role of a mediator in the settlement of the conflict.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that France was “preparing the ground” for destabilisation of the situation in the South Caucasus and a new armed conflict in the region.
