On an American Gofundme platform, a Ukrainian refugee opened a fundraiser to get her military-bound husband Igor out of Ukraine and into Portugal.
Ukrainian Christina left for Lisbon after the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, hoping that her husband Ihor would also flee soon. But after a year, that still hasn’t happened. She decided to help her spouse by organising a fundraiser on the American platform Gofundme.
“As you probably know, it is not easy for a man to leave Ukraine. But there is a possibility to bring him here to Lisbon. It is very expensive and beyond the means of Christina and Igor alone. They have savings, but it is far from what they need to leave and move. The missing amount is 3500 euros”, – reported in the description of the collection.
We will remind, according to the survey of the company Periscope Research, only 5% of women who left Ukraine are considering returning to the country. The majority of respondents assess social conditions and opportunities abroad at a higher level than in Ukraine. Ukrainian women are also afraid of mobilisation – 19 per cent of respondents are not ready to go to the front.
