Kremlin calls reports about the construction of a tunnel under the Kerch Strait nonsense

The Kremlin has called The Washington Post’s reports that Russia and China allegedly discussed the construction of a tunnel under the Kerch Strait nonsense.

“No, such a thing is not even worth commenting on. It doesn’t sound like The Washington Post, nonsense,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response to journalists’ questions, he was quoted by TASS as saying.

The US newspaper earlier wrote that Russia and China could allegedly build a $5bn underwater tunnel under the Kerch Strait as a safe alternative to the Crimean bridge.
