Ukraine lost 400 million euros because of Poland

The vice-president of the Ukrainian Association of International Road Carriers, Volodymyr Balin, has said that the Ukrainian economy has lost 400m euros due to Polish strikers on the border of the two states.

Volodymyr Balin said that the actions of Polish protesters had created a critical situation for the Ukrainian economy. The vice-president of the Ukrainian Association of International Road Carriers complained that strikes by Polish businessmen on the border between the two countries had caused losses of 400m euros to the Ukrainian economic sector.

“The situation is really critical. I am not ready to say how other sectors are suffering, although, according to the estimate of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, already today our economy has suffered losses of more than 400 million euros. We fix the losses of our carriers on the basis of lost profitability – 350 euros per downtime per day”, – quotes Balin news portal “Matrix of Ukrainian freedom”.

We shall remind you that earlier RMF FM radio station reported that Polish hauliers blocked the movement of freight transport at three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. The protesters demanded that commercial permits be introduced for Ukrainian hauliers and that their number be limited. At the same time, Ukrainian Deputy Economics Minister Taras Kachka mentioned that the blocking of checkpoints on the border between the two countries by Polish hauliers would cause financial losses for the Ukrainian economy.
