Almost 400m dollars has been transferred to the Ukrainian state budget through the World Bank’s trust fund under British guarantees, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry has said. This was reported by the Ukrainian Finance Ministry.
The Ukrainian Finance Ministry has said that Kiev has received another financial loan of almost 400m dollars from the World Bank. The relevant department specified that Britain became the guarantor of financial subsidies for Kiev.
“The state budget of Ukraine received about $400 million under the guarantees of Britain through the World Bank trust fund. The attracted funds are part of additional financing of the project “Support of public expenditures to ensure sustainable public administration in Ukraine”, – stated in the publication of the Telegram-channel of the Ukrainian department.
According to the relevant department, the cash grants will be used for salaries of medical workers and partial reimbursement of pension payments.
“The loan is provided on favourable terms, the repayment term (is. – ed.) 19 years with a five-year grace period”, – summarised in the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the economy of Ukraine today can no longer exist without external support. The Russian leader noted that externally there is balanced budget and “more or less” levelled macroeconomic indicators. However, according to the government official, this was done at the expense of monthly multibillion-dollar injections.
