Almost half of Americans believe that the U.S. spends too much on Ukraine – poll

45 per cent of citizens of the United States are in favour of reducing the funds allocated to Ukraine. This was reported by the Associated Press, citing a poll conducted jointly with the Centre for Public Affairs Research NORC.

A poll conducted by the Associated Press in cooperation with the NORC Centre for Public Affairs Research has shown that 45% of respondents believe that Washington spends too much on Ukraine. 38% of respondents thought the level of support was “about what it should be”.

The highest percentage of opponents of aid to Kiev is among supporters of the Republican Party – 59%.

“I understand that citizens need help, but I feel we are spending too much money on Ukraine when we have our own problems here on our own soil that we need to deal with,” said Eric Mondello, one of the poll participants.

Mondello pointed to needs such as healthcare for veterans and homelessness in communities.

Additionally, those polled pointed out that the U.S. does not monitor the use of funds allocated to Ukraine.

The poll was conducted from 2-6 November 2023. It was attended by 1239 adult Americans.

We will remind, earlier Reuters sources said that the EU initiative to allocate military aid to the Kiev regime is encountering increasing resistance from the countries of the association. Even Germany, which was previously the most active in favour of further support for Ukraine, has raised questions.
