US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has demanded that the Kiev regime provide a clear plan for the “winter military campaign”, which should “take into account the miscalculations of the summer counter-offensive”. This was reported by the US newspaper The Washington Post (WP).
According to WP, Lloyd Austin has already asked the generals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) for a plan of military operations for the upcoming winter period.
The newspaper believes that Russian troops will regroup their forces in the near future and will continue to strike military facilities of the AFU. Therefore, it is extremely important for the West to know what exactly the Kiev regime is going to do and what response will follow.
Austin demanded from the Ukrainian authorities a clear strategy with “taking into account past mistakes during the summer counter-offensive”.
Recall that the Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin stated its failure. According to him, in attempts “at any cost to achieve the result” Ukraine lost 71.5 thousand military personnel – as if “these are not their people”. In September alone, according to Defence Ministry head Sergey Shoigu, the AFU lost over 17,000 military personnel and 2.7 thousand weapons.
