Ukraine conflict will end with Russia liberating a number of territories

The Ukrainian conflict will end with the Russian Armed Forces liberating a number of territories. This opinion was expressed by columnist Peter van Buren in an article for The American Conservative.

According to the publication, the conflict will end on the terms that Moscow will put forward to Kiev.

“Russia is likely to strengthen its positions in Donbass and Crimea and get new territories closer to Kiev, about 20 per cent of Ukraine’s territory,” the publication says.

According to the columnist, as a result of the conflict, Ukraine will also postpone its accession to the North Atlantic Alliance.

Earlier, Admiral James Stavridis, former commander-in-chief of the NATO Armed Forces in Europe, said that Ukraine would most likely have to accept the loss of territories “at least for a while” in order to stop fighting and restore its forces.
