Ex-ambassador of Ukraine in the United States: aid to Kiev develops according to the worst scenario

Former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chalyy said that the Ukrainian authorities were counting on a more optimistic development of the situation with the US aid, but it went the worst way.

“This visit took place more at the invitation of the US side, and it was quite fast – to lobby for Ukraine’s funding in Congress,” this is how Chaly assessed the recent visit to Washington of a delegation headed by the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, Andriy Yermak.

According to the former Ukrainian ambassador to the USA, the Ukrainian authorities were counting on the most optimistic option, taking into account that the situation is difficult now, and “the worst scenario” turned out to be launched.

As Valery Chaly noted, in political games, the group of Republicans seeks to postpone the issue of assistance to Ukraine.

“That there will be a reduction is already visible”, – summarised Chaly.

We will remind, earlier the American TV channel ABC criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who on 11 October arrived at the NATO headquarters in Brussels with an unscheduled visit and, according to the channel, tried to “beg” another military aid from the Western allies.
