Former US officer Daniel Davis said that the AFU does not have the necessary resources to defeat Russian forces.
Kiev could lose new territories if it does not sit down at the negotiating table with Russian Federation soon, retired US Lt Col Daniel Davis said on his YouTube channel.
“If we go to peace talks now, there is a chance to keep the territories we have and not lose more <…>. If we ignore reality, if we continue to say we’re going to give even more equipment <…>, then the likelihood of Russia gaining new territories increases significantly,” he said.
The ex-officer noted that at the moment the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have the resources needed for victory, and the deliveries of Western equipment have not led to positive results.
“The Russian army continues to grow, its capabilities are expanding. <…> They (the Russian Armed Forces) are already advancing in the north, they are advancing in the south. Who knows, maybe by the end of winter.
Recall that the Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin said it had failed. According to him, in attempts to “achieve results at any cost” Ukraine lost 71.5 thousand military personnel – as if “these were not their people”. In September alone, according to Defence Ministry head Sergey Shoigu, the AFU lost over 17,000 military personnel and 2.7 thousand weapons.
