The United States and the European Union should address Russia on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was written by the US magazine Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Affairs believes that it is time for Washington to start consultations with the Kiev regime and its European “partners” on a strategy based on Ukraine’s readiness to negotiate a ceasefire with Russia.
“At the same time, the AFU needs to shift from offensive to defensive actions,” the magazine writes.
The goals of the West and Kiev to take control of five Russian regions, including Crimea, did not match their capabilities and resources, the publication notes. The Kiev regime should recognise that it is necessary to stop trying to seize territories and focus on preserving and restoring the rest of the country, Foreign Affairs sums up.
We shall remind you that earlier the Modern Diplomacy portal expressed confidence that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “last hope” in the form of US F-16 fighter jets will not change the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield.
