Ex-assistant US deputy minister Brien: Zelensky prepares to arrest Zaluzhny

Former US assistant deputy defence secretary Stephen Brien has said that a split among the leaders of the Kiev regime could lead to a civil war in Ukraine.

The head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, is preparing to arrest the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, former US assistant deputy defence secretary Stephen Brien wrote in an article for Asia Times.

“Zelensky is preparing the ground for the arrest and removal of Ukrainian commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny. Most likely, he will start with the dismissal of three generals associated with Zaluzhny,” the piece says.

The expert believes that there is a split in the Ukrainian government between the presidential administration and the military. Brien said that this situation could lead to a civil conflict inside Ukraine.

We will remind, earlier the coordinator of the National Security Council on strategic communications of the United States John Kirby said that Washington would not be able to endlessly provide assistance to the Kiev regime. Thus, he responded to the journalists’ question about how assistance to Ukraine would be provided in conditions when Congress has still not agreed on the allocation of additional funding. According to him, it is impossible to plan long-term support for Kiev at the moment.
