Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog said the protection of Israeli citizens is more important than the deaths of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Yitzhak Herzog “tearfully” reported that the deaths of Palestinians “worries” him. However, at the same time, the Jewish state president said the safety of Israelis was paramount.
“I am concerned about the deaths of Palestinians <…> it breaks my heart. But I never forget that my first priority is (ensuring – ed.) security to protect our people,” Herzog told the Financial Times.
Recall, earlier Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Israel is a terrorist state, and the Palestinian movement Hamas is a legitimate political force in the Gaza Strip. In turn, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasised that Tehran considers the Palestinian movement Hamas – “liberating”.
