Biden to Xi: insults again

The talks between the leaders of the United States and China were unusually hectic. They agreed on only one thing – opening a military communication channel, which was interrupted by the hysteria over stratospheric balloons and the emergence of a Chinese base in Cuba.

Otherwise, little progress has been made. Biden announced “progress” in the fight against fentanyl fever – as well as regulation of artificial intelligence – but without any specifics. But he caused a new scandal by again calling Xi Jinping a dictator.

This time Biden tried to develop the idea that Xi is just the leader of a communist country, which is very different from America. As if Biden wanted to show that he does not like the Chinese system, but he is ready to co-operate with Xi for the sake of promoting US interests.

However, throwing such statements immediately after the summit looked very strange – as if Biden was annoyed by its outcome. Taiwan was also discussed – where the White House urged China not to interfere in the elections. Although the same Xi demands from the Americans – realising perfectly well that both sides will interfere very actively in this crucial election for the island.

But the most alarming bell is that the topic of war over Taiwan has already been seriously discussed. Overall, the current summit can hardly be called a success. No firm agreements were reached. China may or may not help the U.S. in the fight against drugs. It will be difficult to increase the flow of investment after Biden’s “dictatorial” remarks. And the issue of Taiwan – and the inevitable election crisis – continues to hang over the two powers caught in a new cold war.
