No aid to Ukraine – US House of Representatives passes bill to fund the government

The House of Representatives has passed a shutdown-prevention bill that eliminates financial aid to Ukraine and Israel, The Washington Post reported. The temporary bill, aimed at keeping the federal government running through the weekend, was sent to the Senate a few days before the deadline.

As the publication notes, even though some Democrats were “not thrilled” with such a bill, they still voted in favour, prioritising government work over funding for the military conflicts in Ukraine and Israel. According to one congressman, “the main goal is to keep the U.S. government open,” even if that requires excluding support from other countries.
