NATO secretary-general says Ukraine will determine peace terms on its own

The Ukrainian authorities will make an independent decision on what terms to sit down at the negotiating table and conclude a peace agreement. This opinion was expressed by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Speaking on this topic ahead of a joint meeting with the heads of military departments of the EU member states in Brussels, Stoltenberg said that the allies should continue to support Kiev, RIA Novosti news agency reported.

NATO Secretary General also noted that the degree of acceptability of the terms of the negotiations will be determined by the assistance provided by the alliance countries.

Earlier Stoltenberg assessed the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine. The NATO secretary-general said that intense fighting continued and the situation remained difficult.
