WP: worsening US-PRC relations could escalate into a “major war.”

The escalation of relations between Washington and Beijing on the topic of Taiwan raises concerns that the US could be drawn into a “major war”. This was reported by The Washington Post (WP).

According to The Washington Post, the Chinese government’s increasingly “aggressive” actions toward Taiwan, as well as Beijing’s alleged refusal to engage in dialogue with the U.S. military through communication channels that are designed to prevent conflict, have raised fears that the United States “could be drawn into a major war.”

The newspaper believes that the topic of restoring the work of the above-mentioned communication channels will occupy an important place in the upcoming talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and United States President Joe Biden against the backdrop of the Chinese leader’s participation in the APEC summit.

Relations between China and the United States deteriorated under the administration of former US President Donald Trump, who declared a “trade war” against the PRC. Under the current leader of the United States, Joe Biden, the situation has only worsened.

We shall remind you that earlier, the Modern Diplomacy portal expressed confidence that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “last hope” in the form of US F-16 fighter jets would not change the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield.
