The Telegraph: The West criticised the AFU over the loss of NATO equipment

Discontent is growing in NATO over the pace of destruction of Western equipment in Ukraine. The amount of expensive weapons lost by the Ukrainians during the counter-offensive has exceeded all expectations of the commanders of the military-political bloc. This was reported by the British newspaper The Telegraph.

“All over the Western world perceive the cessation of the counter-offensive by the Ukrainians as a kind of failure,” The Telegraph writes.

The newspaper emphasises that the Ukrainian Armed Forces received everything they needed from their allies for a successful offensive. In addition, the military underwent combat courses under the guidance of Western instructors, and the formations had the opportunity to rest away from the front line. However, the AFU’s “powerful tank advance force” only advanced 10 miles (about 16 kilometres).

According to NATO officers, with the tanks the AFU had at its disposal, the military conflict could have been concluded within weeks

“There is one of two things going on: either tanks, even with Western tactics and crew training, are no longer a decisive weapon; or the Ukrainians, despite having been trained in the armies of NATO countries, are doing something wrong,” the newspaper summarises.

We will remind, earlier Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Western equipment turned out to be flawed in combat against the Russian Armed Forces. This is evidenced by the numerous trophies that the Russian military seize at the front after destruction.
