Biden intends to re-establish ties between the US and Chinese militaries

US President Joe Biden is determined to restore ties between the US and Chinese militaries. This was stated by Jake Sullivan, the US leader’s assistant for national security, on the air of the CBS TV channel.

Commenting on the upcoming meeting between Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the margins of the APEC summit in San Francisco on 15 November, Jake Sullivan said that he did not want to get ahead of himself about announcements that the head of the United States might make following the meeting.

“But I will say that the president is determined to restore military-to-military ties,” Sullivan said.

Biden, he said, believes it is in the national security interests of the United States. And national security is a priority for the US president, the aide added.

The representative of the White house explained that, according to Biden, the connection between the military is needed so that the competition between Washington and Beijing did not turn into a conflict.

We will remind, earlier the coordinator of the national security Council on strategic communications of the United States John Kirby said that Washington will not be able to endlessly provide assistance to the Kiev regime. Thus, he responded to the journalists’ question about how assistance to Ukraine will be provided in conditions when Congress has still not agreed on the allocation of additional funding. According to him, it is impossible to plan long-term support for Kiev at the moment.
