The Washington Post has accused a Ukrainian colonel of coordinating a terrorist attack on Nord Streams

The Washington Post has named the coordinator of the attack on the Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2. He turned out to be 48-year-old Ukrainian colonel Roman Chervynskyy.

The publication’s sources claim that Colonel Roman Chervinskyy of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) took part in a sabotage operation against Russian gas pipelines on 26 September 2022. The Ukrainian officer obeyed the instructions of higher-ranking officials, eventually reporting to the AFU commander-in-chief, General Valeriy Zaluzhnyy.

According to The Washington Post, Chervinsky was at the head of a six-man team that rented a sailboat under assumed names. The squad also used diving equipment to plant explosives on the Nord Streams.

It is noted that the colonel himself in a comment to WP through his lawyer denied his involvement in the sabotage. “All assumptions about my involvement in the attack on the “Nord Stream” are spread by Russian propaganda without any basis”, – stated in the commentary.

It is noteworthy that at the moment the SDF officer Roman Chervinsky is in custody in the case of the strike of the Russian Armed forces on the airfield Kanatovo in Kirovograd region, during which the object was significantly damaged.

Recall that the sabotage against the strings of the gas pipelines “Nord Stream” and “Nord Stream – 2” was committed on 26 September 2022 in the exclusive economic zones of Denmark and Sweden. As a result of a series of explosions, both strings of Nord Stream-1 and one of the two strings of Nord Stream-2 were damaged.
