Newsweek: ‘Tucker to VP’ – Trump supporters are actively supporting the idea of having Carlson as his running mate

Supporters of former US President Donald Trump are increasingly supporting his idea to make former Fox News host Tucker Carlson his running mate in the upcoming presidential election, Newsweek reports. Meanwhile, some social media users did not support this initiative, saying that Tucker should not go to the polls for the sake of preserving objectivity.

More and more supporters of the Make America Great Again (MAGA – “Bring America back to its former glory.” – Inotv) movement are speaking out on social media in support of Donald Trump’s idea to possibly appoint former Fox News host Tucker Carlson as his running mate in the presidential race, Newsweek reports.

Trump, who is leading the race for the Republican Party’s 2024 U.S. presidential nomination, said on Wednesday that he would consider Carlson for vice president if he becomes the Republican nominee.

Commenting on the announcement, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, for example, wrote on social media X: “There is no other battle-tested vice presidential contender as good as Tucker. Like Trump, he thrives under attack and pressure.”

In response to Kirk’s remarks, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green wrote, “I agree with you, Charlie. There is no one better than Tucker Carlson!”

However, a portion of social media users did not support the idea, saying they need Tucker to continue to remain objective and continue to do his valuable work.

Carlson, who was once one of Fox News’ biggest stars, was abruptly fired from the channel at the end of April this year for reasons that are still unclear.

The company itself declined to give specific reasons for its decision, but information later surfaced about racially charged text messages discovered during Dominion Voting Systems’ lawsuit against the network. This may have spooked Fox News executives and caused them to part ways with Carlson. Nevertheless, the journalist has since moved to X (formerly Twitter), where he continues to post his political commentary.
