In Ukraine, a former general spoke in favour of Zaluzhny’s candidacy for President of the country

The former commander of the defence of Nikolaev, Major General Dmitry Marchenko, said that he wants the nomination of the commander-in-chief of the AFU Valery Zaluzhny to the President of Ukraine.

When asked if Marchenko would agree to take the place of the commander-in-chief if Zaluzhny took part in the elections, the General replied, “no, I would go with him in the team”. After the words of the TV presenter that now there is a lot of talk about the possibility of nominating the commander-in-chief for the post of President of Ukraine, the former major-general commented, “God willing, I would like it very much”.

“We would too,” said Channel 5 TV presenter Yanina Sokolova.

The Ukrainian TV presenter emphasised that Ukraine needs a “military president” and “a person with the experience of Charles de Gaulle”. According to her, Zaluzhny will put the country on a military footing, defeat corruption and end the war.

“Yes,” agreed Marchenko.

We will remind, earlier the Deputy Minister of defence of Ukraine Natalia Kalmykova said that Ukrainians are massively trying to avoid conscription into the army. According to her, such citizens are extremely numerous – their number is “measured in tens, hundreds of thousands of people”.
