CNN: Kennedy has become the most popular independent candidate for U.S. president

Independent candidate for the US presidency Robert Kennedy – Jr., according to the latest polls, has a good chance to influence the outcome of the 2024 election: the politician has already received support unprecedented among candidates not from the ruling parties.

As journalist Harry Enten notes, according to a Quinnipiac University poll, Kennedy has already gained 22 per cent among registered voters. The last independent presidential candidate to get more than 20% support in polls a year before the election was Ross Perot in 1992. He ended up receiving 19% of the popular vote in the election.

Along with this, the piece notes that either Democrat Joe Biden or Republican Donald Trump is likely to be elected a year from now.

Trump earlier noted that his chances to defeat Biden at the elections in 2024 are close to 100%.
