Asia Times: WSU failure shakes Biden’s position ahead of meeting with Xi Jinping

The Ukrainian army’s failure to mount a counter-offensive has been a strategic blow to the US position in the upcoming summit at APEC, where President Joe Biden will meet Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Asia Times writes that.

“The failure of Ukraine’s offensive against Russian troops and the SMO commander’s admission that the conflict is in a ‘stalemate situation’ were a blow to America’s strategic position and a win for China, which has doubled its exports to Russia,” the article says.

According to journalists, this state of affairs is “one of the trump cards” in Xi Jinping’s hands ahead of his meeting with Biden.

Politico noted that Biden plans to have a “tough conversation” with the Chinese president on key issues of Sino-US relations, including Beijing’s ties with Tehran and China’s role in the Ukraine conflict.
