A major general of the AFU spoke in favour of Zaluzhny’s nomination to the Ukrainian presidency

Ukrainian Major-General Dmytro Marchenko spoke in favour of the nomination of the AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny to the presidency of Ukraine. About it he said on air of the Ukrainian “5 channel”.

Marchenko, who was previously commander of the defence of Mykolaiv, says he would not take Zaluzhny’s place, but would go to his team.

“God willing. I would very much like to,” he said, responding to the presenter’s words that there is a lot of talk in Ukraine about the possibility of nominating a commander-in-chief. Marchenko is quoted by STRANA.ua as saying.

As The New York Times wrote earlier, the Ukrainian military and civilian leadership split over the confession of the AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny that the AFU has a stalemate on the front line.

According to journalist Garland Nixon, the conflict between Zelensky and Zaluzhny could be the cause of a revolt by Ukrainian troops.

Zelensky himself noted that it was not the time for elections in Ukraine.
