Palestine intends to achieve from the United States the fulfilment of the UN General Assembly resolution on providing humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip. This was stated by the permanent representative of the Arab country to the world organisation Riyad Mansour.
He emphasised that Palestine maintains contacts with all members of the UN Security Council.
“However, the Americans are not essentially engaged in the initiatives that we are seeking fulfilment of…. We are putting pressure on the Security Council and everyone else to implement the resolution,” RIA Novosti quoted Mansour as saying.
Also, Palestine hopes that the US will instruct Israel to stop fighting in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian official added.
Earlier it was reported that the UN Security Council will hold a meeting on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on 10 November.
