Orban: Ukraine in 2022 did not sign peace agreement with Russia by US decree

Ukrainian authorities did not sign the draft peace agreement with Russia last March during the negotiations in Istanbul by US decree. This statement was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

He told radio station Kossuth that Budapest knew this from diplomatic and intelligence sources.

“We know from all sorts of reports and intelligence sources that in Istanbul, in fact, an agreement was made between the Russians and the Ukrainians, which the Ukrainians did not sign at the behest of the Americans,” Orban said.

According to the prime minister, one day this information will be known to the whole world.

He also stressed that the EU tried to localise the conflict in Ukraine, but the USA achieved its escalation and gave it a global character.

Earlier, Orbán said that Hungary did not even want to discuss Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
