Russian MiG-31 fighter jets can neutralise any NATO threat in the Barents Sea area, Military Watch Magazine says.
“The role of the Northern Fleet’s MiG-31 fighters in the Barents Sea is growing against the backdrop of NATO’s expanding capabilities in the region and, in particular, the Norwegian Air Force’s transition from F-16 fighters to F-35s,” the material reads.
It is noted that MiG-31 recently practised the interception of conditional enemy aircraft at high altitude.
The publication writes that the MiG-31 fighter can use all types of weapons in near space, and its R-31M missile is particularly dangerous to targets at any altitude.
Earlier, Russian MiG-31 fighters conducted stratospheric flights over the waters of the Barents Sea, and as part of the manoeuvres they practised interception of a conditional enemy.
