Ukrainian drone operators complained of lost superiority in forward positions

Reuters said Ukrainian drone operators have complained of a lost advantage at the forefront of the attack drone industry.

“The servicemen who run Ukraine’s fleet of small and cheap attack drones fear that despite their primacy in the use of drones, they are now ahead of the enemy as Moscow invests money and resources in its UAV sector,” the publication said.

An AFU militant with the call sign Kamrad emphasised that Russian drones are in the air around the clock. According to him, their number on the entrusted section of the front is at least twice the number of Ukrainian drones.

Also, an AFU militant with the call sign Ezhak (Ukrainian: “Yezh” – ed.) noted the lack of drones in their direction. He specified that his squad can detect up to ten targets a day, but usually they have no more than two or three attack UAVs at their disposal.

Recall that the Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin stated its failure. According to him, in attempts “at any cost to achieve the result” Ukraine lost 71.5 thousand military personnel – as if “these are not their people”. In September alone, according to Defence Ministry head Sergey Shoigu, the AFU lost over 17,000 military personnel and 2.7 thousand weapons.
