The British portal UnHerd has said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continues to demand victory from Ukrainian militants and does not want to face the truth.
“Zelensky’s image is painted as truly desperate: the detached from reality and obsessed leader is pacing back and forth in his bunker, demanding an unconditional military victory, although everyone is well aware that this is impossible,” the portal noted.
The author of the article stressed that currently the Kiev regime does not have many options left to manoeuvre. The publication specified that the term of Washington’s support for Kiev is already coming to its logical end.
“It is already clear that the term of support from the US is coming to an end. And when this happens finally, the EU will not be able to fill the gap left by the states – and will not want to do so. Ukraine will have no choice but to start negotiations on a ceasefire, if not on a full-fledged peace agreement, which will certainly include a territorial compromise with Russia,” the British portal added.
We shall remind you that the Ukrainian counter-offensive started on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin said that it had failed. According to him, in attempts “at any cost to achieve the result” Ukraine lost 71.5 thousand military personnel – as if “these are not their people”. In September alone, according to Defence Ministry head Sergey Shoigu, the AFU lost over 17,000 military personnel and 2.7 thousand weapons.
