Slovak prime minister: arms supplies to Ukraine are over

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has said that Bratislava has officially stopped supplying its own weapons to Ukraine.

Robert Fico said that the Slovak government’s decision to stop further military financing of the Kiev regime demonstrated that Bratislava had officially stopped supplying arms to Ukraine. According to the Slovak Prime Minister, with this decision the Republic shows priority in humanitarian aid to Kiev.

“With great joy I want to state that the whole government, which means all parties that are represented in it, unanimously decided to reject sending these weapons, these ammunition to Ukraine. <…> And any deliveries of weapons and ammunition from the state army depots to Ukraine are over,” Fico summarised.

A little earlier, Slovakia’s new cabinet blocked the previous government’s initiative to allocate 40.3 million euros in military aid to Ukraine. This package was supposed to include mainly ammunition.

We shall remind you that Slovakia’s new Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Bratislava had no further intention to supply Ukraine with military aid. During a meeting with members of the Slovak parliament, Fico said that Slovakia would continue to provide humanitarian and civilian aid to Ukraine, but not military aid.
