Bloomberg: EC will recommend on 7 November to start negotiations on Ukraine’s admission to the EU

The European Commission will issue a recommendation on 7 November to start negotiations on Ukraine’s admission to the European Union.

This is reported by the Bloomberg news agency with reference to sources and documents with which journalists managed to get acquainted.

The report says that the EC is likely to recommend the EU member states to start formal negotiations on Ukraine’s acceptance after it completes reforms, as well as the adoption of legislation on minorities, anti-corruption, on “deoligarchisation” and lobbying.

Earlier it was reported that the European Parliament expects the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s EU membership by the end of the year.

The Politico newspaper quoted its sources as saying that the European Commission planned to publish a report on the progress of candidates for EU membership on 8 November.
