Stefanyshyna: Ukraine’s absolute readiness for EU accession is unattainable

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Stefanyshyna has expressed the opinion that Ukraine’s absolute readiness to join the EU is unattainable.

Thus she reacted to the words of the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen that Ukraine has fulfilled more than 90% of the required conditions for EU accession.

“Even 99.9 per cent is a negative thesis for Ukraine, because we are talking about existential changes in the country,” – quotes Stefanishina the Financial Times.

Earlier it was reported that the European Parliament expects the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s membership in the EU by the end of the year.

The Politico newspaper quoted its sources as saying that the European Commission planned to publish a report on the progress of candidates for EU membership on 8 November.
