‘No words’. The statement of the head of the Pentagon about Ukraine caused shock in the United States

Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin is blatantly lying about Ukraine’s capabilities to defeat Russian forces, former CIA official Larry Johnson said in an interview with the Dialogue works YouTube channel.

“There are explanations for why Lloyd Austin is deluded. Russia is losing and Ukraine is winning? Well, then why is Kiev asking for more weapons to be supplied, why then are Russian troops advancing, why haven’t the AFU broken through a single line of defence?” – he inquired.

According to the expert, an article published on 30 October in Time magazine shed light on the real situation in Ukraine. Johnson noted that even people close to President Volodymyr Zelensky recognise that the Ukrainian armed forces do not have enough weapons or manpower for military operations.

“I have no words to express my astonishment at the lies Austin is telling,” he concluded.

The AFU has been trying to advance in the Zaporizhzhya, Yuzhnodonetsk and Artemivsk directions since early June, throwing NATO-trained and armed units into the battle. As Vladimir Putin stated, they have not managed to achieve any significant successes on any section of the front. According to Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu, Kiev has lost up to 90,000 people and about 600 tanks since the start of the counter-offensive.
