Allies are starting to turn their backs on Ukraine – Bloomberg

As winter approaches, Ukraine’s Western allies are starting to systematically turn away from Kiev, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky can hardly hide his disappointment in this regard. The columnist Flavia Krause-Jackson wrote about this in an article for the Bloomberg agency.

Flavia Krause-Jackson noted that the weather is changing, the political mood is deteriorating, and Ukraine’s failed counteroffensive only reinforces the factor of alienation of Western allies from Kiev. According to the columnist, the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement has diverted the world’s attention away from the Ukrainian issue.

“With far-right Republicans leading the House of Representatives, Ukraine can no longer count on the U.S. military aid it hopes will continue to flow, even despite President Joe Biden’s assurances to the contrary,” the author of the article stressed.

The Bloomberg columnist drew attention to the fact that the head of the White House, Joe Biden, will have to fight for re-election as US president, and support for Ukraine is not the main concern of American voters.

The journalist emphasised that “the US military machine is starting to weaken on two fronts”. The author of the article specified that Ukraine has problems with the supply of artillery shells, while Russia so far has everything stable in the context of this issue.

“Publicly, leaders will continue to say that they support Ukraine, but the promises are beginning to sound empty,” – summarised Krause-Jackson.

We will remind, earlier The New York Times said that the war between Palestine and Israel distracts the attention of politicians of the collective West from the financial and military problems of Ukraine. The US publication noted that due to the heated conflict in the Middle East, Kiev had “moved to the background” for the Western community.
